How to Report an Absence

Attendance Guidelines

A parent or guardian must email or call Lincoln’s 24-hour attendance line before 10:00 AM each day the student is absent.

If you cannot call, a written note will be accepted when your student returns.

Unexcused absences affect attendance reporting and Panther PRIDE Awards.

Please report the absence within the first 3 days.

“Two is Too Many!”

Acceptable Excuses

  • Illness or injury
  • Medical or dental appointment
  • Funeral of a family member
    (1 day in CA, 3 days out of CA)
  • Court appearance

If the Student is absent more then 5 consecutive days or has over 15 excused absences for the school year, a Doctor's note may be requested to excuse.  

Unacceptable Excuses

  • Transportation issues
  • Oversleeping
  • Sibling was late
  • Personal fun day

 

Tardies

Students should be in class by 8:15 AM.

Late students must obtain an Admit Slip from the Attendance Office.

Unexcused tardies may result in a lunchtime or after-school reflection with staff.

Early Pick-Up

Please notify the office as early as possible if you need early pickup.

Students cannot be called out during the last 15 minutes of the day.

Excused/unexcused rules still apply.

 

Independent Study Contracts

If a student will be out of town for 5 days or more, an Independent Study contract may be issued.

A two-week notice is required so teachers can prepare materials.
