Before and After School Program
About Our STAAR Program
Our STAAR program's mission is to enrich the lives of our students with success through academics and role models. We cultivate children's individual creativity through visual art, drama, dance, film, photography, music, academics, and culinary arts. Our high-quality program is supported by trained staff who provide personal attention to every student.
The STAAR after school program offers academic enrichment, homework support, team sports, physical activities, and nutrition education—all in a fun and safe environment for students.
Enrichment Activities Include:
- Nutrition Class
- Life Skills
- Photography
- Character Education
- Music and Singing
- The Truth About Drugs
- Team Sports
- Heart to Heart
- Arts and Crafts and More
Academic Enrichment
Our enrichment activities expand on students' learning in ways that differ from the school day. They are interactive and project-focused, allowing students to explore new concepts or apply familiar concepts in new ways. These activities are both fun and educational, helping students connect school learning to real-life experiences.
Homework Opportunity
We provide a quiet, supervised place for students to work on their homework for 60 minutes.
Recreation Activities
Students have time to relax and play through sports, games, and clubs. While some academic aspects may be highlighted, the main lessons focus on social skills, teamwork, leadership, competition, and discipline.
If you have any questions, please contact our Site Director, Mr. Mark Henry, at 760-901-8966 in room J4.
